0 Walking on the wild side..

all photos: overonecoffee

February in Iceland can be cold and gray but luckily it is the shortest month of the year so soon the spring will come. I always need to make goals once in a while, and for this month I decided to go for a long walk every day. I like walking in beautiful nature and it's even better in good company.

Do you have a February goal?

This is Jón's version of a gramophone which he calls Jónófón.
I really like this idea and it is very interesting to follow what Jón will do in the future.

0 Before and After

When I was little I used to play in this cute hut beside my parents summerhouse. For many years it have been used as a storage because there were no children to play in it. Now time has changed with our own children so me and my siblings decided to fresh it up a little bit. I bought a cute stove, some kitchen stuff and chairs in a recycle store called Góði Hirðirinn and these little things did a whole lot.
Next step will be to fix the garden and paint the house on the outside.

0 Inspired by Iceland

Eldhús is the name of a small dine on wheels.
It travels around Iceland for twelve days and invites tourists to dine in this cute little house in some of Iceland's most scenic places.
This wonderful idea comes from the project Inspired by Iceland.

See if you get inspired!

1 What is now!

"Sasa", in the African Kiswahili language, means "What is now".

The Sasa Clock by the Icelandic designer Þórunn Árnadóttir encourages us to relax and let time flow without following every tick tack-ing second.

In some places around the world, people control time rather that it controlling them. They perceive time as speeding up when activities speed up and slowing down when its time to rest.

In our speed-up life we need to be able to liberate ourselves from the clock, literally. In these cases, the design offer you to take a break from the time and simply remove the beads from the carousel and wear them as a necklace.

The time is read from a necklace of wooden beads placed over a slowly turning carousel. As the carousel rotates, a bead slips down the cord every 5 minutes. The last bead to have dropped indicates the time.
